About
Today L.a.s. is among the leading Italian groups able to interact with hotel facilities and to turn modern art into the protagonist of a new concept of reception. Among the main collaborations, L.a.s. has worked to combine exhibition projects and hospitality - in Italy - with Capri Palace and Tiberio Palace, Capri, Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, Sorrento, Aldovrandi Palace, Rome, - abroad - with international luxury hotels of the Doğuş Group and, since the opening of its show room in Mayfair, London, with the Westbury Hotel.
* The word "glocal" is derived from “glocalization” (Roland Robertson, sociologist), meaning ‘think global, act local’. A combination of the words "global" and "local" used to describe a product or service that is developed and distributed globally, but is also fashioned to accommodate the user or consumer in a local market.
About the Artist
Born in Bolzano in 1969, currently lives and works in Ortisei (BZ). After studying at the Ortisei Art Institute he was an apprentice to Master Heinrich Demetz, consequently obtaining the Sculpture master degree. Ever since, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in both Italy and abroad (Austria, Germany, United States, Belgium, Turkey).
Since 1999 and for the following three years, he studied pedagogy, didactics, psychology of learning and development. Since 2001 he's been dictating courses and seminars on wood carving. From 2002 to 2006 he was Head Teacher for the Art Sculpture Course at the Lignea University of Zwickau in Germany, as well as the Schneeberg's Faculty of Applied Arts and the Daetz-Centrum in Lichtenstein. From 2007 to 2010, he achieved major awards in art contests such as "III Trienale Ladina", the "Arciere Award" and the "XVIII Sulmona Prize " placing himself among the most interesting sculptors in today's art scene.
His art has been strongly supported by the Swarovski's Design Center, Wattens, the LKJ-Sachsen Leipzig and Daetz-Centrum in Lichtenstein.
He collaborates with the White Room Art System since 2011.
Antonio Sannino (Naples, 1959), lives and works between Naples and Rome.
Graduated in his city, he moved to England where he worked for 10 years experimenting with various painting techniques. Back to Italy, he continues his career with a series of personal exhibitions and participations in prestigious competitions. His works are exhibited in galleries around the world and since many years he is loved by collectors and art lovers.
The research of Antonio Sannino, a painter of robust classical training, for some years - in addition to beautiful portions of the sea seen from above in an almost abstract perspective - has embarked on an exhibition dedicated to the contemporary urban landscape: international cities, especially New York and Midtown Manhattan, are pictorially represented by the artist through the search for color and light. The large painted cities, taken at dusk or in the darkness of night, appear iridescent in the reflections of the windows and colored lights; the buildings, captured in chaotic perspectives, seem to move and even the remains of the sky are the result of a vision, rather than a simple reproduction.
In these latest works, Sannino experiments with a technique that guarantees an almost pop flatness: the use of resin capable of vitrifying oil colors spread on an aluminum support. The result is a thin and smooth surface that enhances the compositional depth, a sort of no-landscape, through which the artist no longer wants to represent reality, but alludes to it, preferring to grasp its strongest expression.
